Welcome to Zed Alley Clayhouse in Bristol. We offer a variety of pottery courses and workshops in small classes, led by friendly, expert pottery teachers. Our spacious members’ studio provides a weekly escape for potters with a bit more experience with the convenience of having all the materials and equipment provided for them.

From one day workshops to shorter or longer courses, we have something for everyone.
Our 6 or 12-week foundation pottery courses provide a general introduction to pottery making and glazing and are suitable for beginners or intermediate students. Take a look at our general 12-week pottery course, our 6-week pottery wheel-throwing course, or our 6-week course in hand-building pottery – perfect for anyone who is brand new to ceramics and wants to learn the basics of slab-building and glazing.
We also offer short taster classes, one-day workshops or two-day courses in wheel throwing and hand ceramics, as well as improver courses for anyone wanting to continue to build their skills in wheel-throwing with the support of a teacher. All of our classes take place at our gorgeous pottery school located within the historic Christmas Steps Arts Quarter, in central Bristol.
