Taster session in wheel-throwing
£55
This fun pottery workshop is a short introduction to throwing on the wheel for anyone new to ceramics and wheel-throwing.
Over two and a half hours you will be shown how to centre clay on the potter’s wheel and then how to compress it and lift the sides to make some simple pots.
After lots of practice, you can choose your best pot to keep and we will fire and glaze it for you. If you would like any of the other pots you have made to be fired and glazed, there is an additional charge of £5 per kilo of fired work (this works out at about £1 for a small mug) plus a technician glazing charge of £5 per item. You will be able to collect your finished work approximately three weeks after your class, or we can arrange to have it sent to you.
This beginner's pottery workshop takes place at our lovely studios located in central Bristol's Christmas Steps Arts Quarter, surrounded by a vibrant creative community with many independent shops, and places to eat and drink, right on our doorstep. If you are looking for a more advanced course or something over the course of 6 or 12 weeks, take a look at all of the pottery classes we offer here at Zed Alley Clayhouse.
