Pottery introduction for 12-18s: wheel-throwing
This course is available by arrangement and can accommodate up to 6 students. Please contact [email protected] to find out more.
Over four sessions, students will learn how to prepare clay, centre it on the wheel, and to shape and turn cylinders and bowls. In the final session students will learn how to slip decorate their work.
At the end of the course the students will choose four items to keep which we will fire and glaze for them. This is included in the course price. The finished work will be ready to collect four to six weeks after the course.
Pottery sessions are 2 hours long with no break. Students should arrive having eaten a suitable amount to last them for the whole session and we recommend bringing a water bottle.
Zed Alley Clayhouse is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all children and young people participating in our pottery courses. In order to do this we need to ask for some information about your child. When a course has been booked for a young person, the parent/guardian will be sent a form, and this must be completed before the start of the course. Please look out for an email containing a link to the form, including checking your junk folder. For further information about courses for under 18s please see our terms and conditions, and to view our safeguarding policy see here.
12-18 year olds may also attend this course with an adult doing the course alongside them. If you wish to accompany your 12-18 year old, please make a booking for two places, and at checkout ensure you add a note to the order to explain who the places are for.
