Mugs and bowls: one-day workshop in hand-building
£85
Our one-day beginners hand-building pottery workshop is an introduction to hand-building suitable for anyone new to ceramics.
You will explore techniques for making simple vessels such as bowls, mugs and vases by rolling, cutting and joining slabs of clay. You will be able to imprint your slabs with patterns and have a go at making handles, pourers or simple lids for your pots.
You can select up to two pots to keep which we will fire and glaze for you. If you would like any of the other pots you have made to be fired and glazed, there is an additional charge of £5 per kilo of fired work (this works out at about £1 for a small mug) plus a technician glazing charge of £5 per item. You will be able to collect your finished work four to six weeks after your course.
If you are looking for a shorter workshop, or something longer or more advanced, then take a look at all the other pottery classes we offer here at Zed Alley Clayhouse in central Bristol. Our beautiful listed building can be found in the heart of Bristol's Christmas Steps Arts Quarter - a creative community, which we are proud to be a part of.
